Today’s NYT (07012025) had a blurb about an Australian moth with a brain 1/10 the size of a grain of rice, that travels 500 miles to a place it’s never been to escape the heat. It returns home later in the year. The same paper talked about early summer heat waves in Europe topping 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Back in the USA Republican Senators are busy restoring coal as the energy source for electricity generation, and rescinding tax incentives for renewable energy. Never mind that coal pollutes the atmosphere and accelerates climate change and global warming. Their rhetorical justification, it will make electricity affordable “again” and is a reliable resource. While they are at it, why not bring back the stagecoach?
