I was wrong. I thought that the center would hold and would reject Trump. In fact, his recent behavior, erratic, vulgar, disingenuous, enamored him to the public which was in the mood to reject all segments of the establishment. The vote is a virtual iconoclastic revolution at the ballot box. It is possible that Trump will end up with a friendly Senate and House, receptive to everything from eroding clean energy initiatives to embracing conservative Christian values.

Will there be any emergency brake to slow down this runaway train? Will the courts recognize constitutional limits or kow tow? Will increased tariffs and deportations produce economic instability? Will the deeply wounded Democratic Party establishment seize on disenchantment and make gains in the next election cycle? And if so, how best to reach the minds of the current generation of voters? The clock goes Tik Tok.
